A collection of two traditional transmissions——AMT

Traditional transmissions are divided into manual mechanical transmissions (MT) and automatic hydraulic transmissions (AT) based on the type of clutch mode. Generally speaking, automatic transmissions are favored by consumers for their simple operation, intuitive driving comfort, and most small vehicles are equipped with this type of transmission.

For medium to large-sized vehicles, the increase in body size and disposable passenger/cargo capacity greatly increases the pressure on the transmission, and the automatic transmission is not well matched with the high torque and low speed engines equipped in large vehicles. Therefore, manual mechanical transmissions with low cost, simple structure, convenient maintenance, and fuel efficiency are still favored by these large vehicles.

However, due to the widespread use in long-distance transportation, mining sites, lifting and hoisting, frequent manual gear shifting can cause fatigue and even discomfort for users, affecting driving safety. So, combining the characteristics of the two types of transmissions, the electronically controlled mechanical automatic transmission (AMT) that uses computer motors for clutch and shift control has emerged.

Although some large foreign companies have equipped some large vehicles with automatic transmission systems, the high cost of vehicle body and maintenance, as well as sensitivity to environmental use, have deterred domestic users. Jiangkou Electric has developed and launched multiple motor assembly series, including automotive gear selection and shifting actuators and AMT gear selection and shifting mechanisms, in response to the national conditions and special usage environments in China. These series can be matched with different usage scenarios of AMT gearboxes in various factories, enabling precise gear shifting operations and greatly improving the efficiency of car operation. While being economical and fuel-efficient, it ensures the safety and comfort of users while driving.
