Do you know what new energy vehicle motors are? Now let the editor from Jiangmen New Energy Motor Manufacturer talk to you.

The main motors used in electric vehicles now include DC motors, AC induction motors, permanent magnet motors, and switched reluctance motors.

1. The advantages of DC motors for electric vehicles are: they have a huge starting acceleration, good electromagnetic torque control characteristics, convenient speed regulation, simple control devices, and low cost. Disadvantage: There is a mechanical commutator, and when operating at high speeds and heavy loads, sparks may appear on the surface of the commutator, so it is not advisable to set the motor speed too high. Compared to other driving systems, it is at a disadvantage and has gradually been phased out.

2. The stator of an AC induction motor for electric vehicles is used to generate a magnetic field, consisting of a stator core, stator winding, outer shell of the iron core, and bearings supporting the rotor shaft. AC motors have the advantages of low price, easy maintenance, and small size, but the control of AC motors is relatively complex. It has become the primary choice for AC driven electric vehicles.

3. Electric vehicle AC induction motor permanent magnet motor uses permanent magnets to generate air gap magnetic flux, replacing the magnetic field coils in DC motors and the excitation magnets in the stator of induction motors. Permanent magnet synchronous motors have the advantages of high efficiency, high moment of inertia ratio, high energy density, especially their low speed and high torque, which can meet the needs of vehicles driving on complex and ever-changing roads. They are high-performance and low-carbon environmentally friendly motors. With the emergence of rare earth permanent magnet materials, they are expected to compete with AC induction motors in the market. Especially in the small and medium power range, it has been widely applied.

4. The stator and rotor of the switched reluctance motor for electric vehicles are both double salient structures made of ordinary silicon steel sheets stacked together. Advantages: simple and reliable, wide adjustable speed range, high efficiency, flexible control, and low cost. Disadvantages: large torque fluctuations, high noise, need for position detectors, non-linear characteristics, etc. The application is restricted. The power performance of electric vehicles is directly related to the power output. The higher the power output, the better the acceleration and climbing ability of the electric vehicle, and the better the quality. At the same time, the size of the motor will also increase. However, the motor cannot work at high efficiency for a long time, which will reduce the utilization rate of the electric vehicle's ability and the driving range of the vehicle.

Generally speaking, the rated power of the motor should meet the requirements of our car's high speed, and the peak power of the motor should meet the requirements of the car's large climbing slope and acceleration performance. The required power of the motor can be calculated according to the formula.
